What will you be learning about?

Visual Design Class Periods 2,3,4

You are in a serious college prep introduction to art class. You will be required to learn a lot of material and make quality art projects.  This is not an easy A!  The Elements of Art and Principles of Design will be covered in this course and we will learn how to critique art and study art history.  Of course we will be learning how to draw and make great art as well. 

• Many art techniques and materials such as pen and ink, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, drawing, linoleum carving and much more.

• We will refer to the elements of art (line, shape and form, value, color, space, texture) and principles of design (balance, unity, contrast, emphasis, pattern, movement and rhythm) to help us in our art.

Drawing/Painting Class periods 5,6

In this class you will take what you learned from Visual Design and go above and beyond - taking your art to the next level. You will learn advanced art techniques and also learn how to critique art.  We will also learn more about art history and the Elements of Art and Principles of Design will be covered in this course.  Writing and drawing/painting assignments are required and periodic tests and quizzes may be given. This is not an easy A!.  Remember, the prerequisite for this class is passing both semesters of Visual Design with grade C or better.
